Dominguez’ latest draw comes on Monday against current world champion Viswanathan Anand (India) which puts him in fourth overall for the tournament.
In other matches, Spanish GM Alexei Shirov won his third consecutive match, this time over local Sergei Tiviakov, to remain the sole holder of first.
Meanwhile, the Norwegian ‘genius’, Magnus Carlsen beat local Loek Van Nelly, while American Hikaru Nakamura was victorious over Nigel Short from Great Britain.
Vassily Ivanchuk (the Ukraine) beat out Jan Smeets (Holland), while Fabiano Caruana (Italy) managed a draw against Vladimir Kramnik (Russia), as did Peter Leko (Hungary) versus Sergey Karjakin (Russia).
Following the overall leader Shirov, are Carlsen and Nakamura tied for second with 2.5 pointes; Ivanchuk with 2 points; and Leinier, Anand and Kramnik all tied for fourth with 1.5 points. Tied for fifth with 1 point each are Tiviakov, Caruana, Leko and Van Nelly; while Smeets and Short round out the competition with half a point each.
Leinier’s next match will be playing white pieces against Leko. Other matches feature: Anand-Nakamura, Carlsen-Short, Ivanchuk-Van Wely, Shirov-Smeets, Kramnik-Tiviakov and Karjakin-Caruana.
