Chávez warned about the millions of dollars the United States gives to Venezuelan rightwing groups, a denunciation made by the socialists based on documents declassified in the United States, reported Prensa Latina.
The Venezuelan Constitution sees foreign financing of national political groups as interference in the internal affairs of the country.
During an act of the electoral campaign, Chávez spoke about this subject and asked Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolás Maduro in which stage the change of the US ambassador was.
After knowing that the diplomatic appointed for the position, Larry Palmer, has not begun his transfer yet, Chávez suggested that they could throw him out before arriving. He has not arrived and he is already in trouble, Chávez said.
Chávez’ warning comes a day after the Movimiento por el Periodismo Necesario (Movement for Necessary Journalism) requested the Venezuelan District Attorney’s Office to investigate the US funding to non-governmental organizations of the media that which campaign against the government.
On behalf of the group, which defines itself as revolutionary journalists working to change the union, Arín Rodríguez handed a document that reports the US interference, made public some days before by analyst Eva Golinger.
According to Rodríguez, Washington is financing the Venezuelan Institute for Press and Society and the organization Espacio Público through destabilizing entities such as Freedom House and USAID.
