HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 14 (acn) Bolivian President Evo Morales accused the U.S. Southern Command of hatching the coup d'etat staged in Honduras against President Manuel Zelaya and asserted that the Empire (US Government) structure is still in force in spite of the arrival to the presidency of Barack Obama.
I have first-hand information that the empire (US) carried out the coup d'etat in Honduras through the US Southern Command, said the head of state in a press conference, with which he concluded his first official visit to Uruguay.
Even though the American president might not know it, the empire structure is still in force, added Morales, who noted that what nearly happened last year in his country, a civil coup, is now taking place in Honduras, reported Prensa Latina.
What happened in the Central American nation is an aggression, a provocation of the Empire, said the Bolivian president.
However, the people have historically defeated the empires, different empires, said Morales and later he urged Latin American countries to think of how people live under dictatorships.
In Uruguay, Morales and his counterpart Tabare Vazquez signed a joint communique expressing that they do not recognize any authority that emerges from the breaking of the constitutional order in Honduras and that they only recognize the legitimate government of President Manuel Zelaya.
