The twelve permanent commissions of the Cuban Parliament will meet on Wednesday at Havana’s Convention Center. The marketing of agricultural products, the role of municipal delegates in the field of Agriculture, the sale of construction materials to the population and the analysis of economic crimes, illegalities and social indiscipline are among the topics of discussion.
As part of activities previous to the Fifth Ordinary Session of the Seventh Legislature of the People’s Power National Assembly, set for Sunday, August 1, representatives will discuss on Wednesday and Thursday the most pressing subjects of the national and international life, as well as the results achieved at the end of the first semester of 2010 by sectors, organizations and institutions under their jurisdiction.
The commissions on Constitutional and Judicial Affairs and on Attention to Services will render account to the representatives in plenary meetings scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
Among other topics to be discussed are the attention paid by local authorities of the People’s Power National Assembly to people’s requests, the meetings of municipal delegates with their electors, and the relations between the municipal government and the delegates.
International topics will include an analysis of the situation in Haiti, the relations between Cuba and the European Union, the UN role and its influence in the solution of the most pressing global problems, the US policy, the Obama’s government and the situation of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters unfairly imprisoned in the United States.
