Cuba Salutes Mayday with Volunteer Work

Young people will join the workers this Saturday and Sunday to take part in volunteer work in salute of International Workers Day, May 1.

The Communist Youth League and the National Workers Union have joined forces in this initiative that will take place at work centers, schools, hospitals, policlinics and construction works.

Young people and workers will also work in the agriculture sectors harvesting sugarcane and potatoes among other crops.

This year Cubans are also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first massive volunteer work day organized by Che Guevara, and the 50th anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
